To mobilize Afghan youth and contribute to global efforts in addressing the challenges of climate change, promoting sustainability, and protecting the environment for future generations.

Our Vision

The Climate and Environment Youth Initiative (CEYI) envisions a sustainable and resilient future for Afghanistan, where youth lead in climate action and environmental protection.  CEYI mobilizes young individuals, equipping them with knowledge and opportunities to drive positive change.  We strive to make Afghanistan a model of climate resilience, integrating sustainable practices into society.  Collaboration and partnerships amplify our impact, while education and awareness empower individuals and inspire collective action.  CEYI embraces diversity And inclusivity.

Objectives

  1. Advocate for climate action and environmental protection.
  2. Foster sustainability practices and promote eco-friendly solutions.
  3. Raise awareness about environmental crises and educate the community.
  4. Encourage youth and women engagement and empower them to make a positive impact.
  5. Collaborate with local, regional, and international organizations to address climate change.
  6. Promote the sustainable development goals outlined by the United Nations.

Climate Literacy Training for Afghan Youth

Dates: 21 July to 21 August

Description: The Climate Literacy Training Program for Afghan Youth, organized by the Climate Environment Youth Initiative (CEYI), ran from July 21 to August 21, with one-hour sessions held every other day. This program aimed to empower Afghan youth by equipping them with essential climate knowledge and skills to become active climate leaders in their communities. Led by national and international experts, the training covered critical topics from climate adaptation to youth engagement. Upon completion, participants received certificates, with some joining CEYI to continue their climate efforts. This program fostered a new generation of climate advocates, building capacity for meaningful change in Afghanistan.

Objectives: Awareness Building, Capacity Development, Empowerment, Network Building.

Second Version of Afghanistan Local Conference of Youth

Date: 27th – 29th August 

Description: the Climate Environment Youth Initiative (CEYI), together with other youth-led organizations, hosted the Afghanistan Local Conference of Youth (LCOY), a national version of the International Conference of Youth. This online, three-day event brought Afghan youth together to discuss key issues like adapting to climate change, youth involvement, and flood preparedness in Afghanistan. Through panels, group discussions, photography, and essay projects, participants shared ideas and explored ways to address local climate challenges, giving Afghan youth a stronger voice in global discussions. LCOY helped create a network of young climate advocates and encouraged collaboration with climate experts, empowering participants to promote sustainability and resilience in their communities.

Objectives: To create a platform for Afghan youth to discuss climate change, share knowledge and experiences, and develop strategies for climate adaptation and action, empowering them to become advocates for sustainability in their communities.

Energy Literacy Training Program


This project focuses on empowering youth through the Energy Literacy Training Program. This initiative aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to develop and advocate for clean energy solutions.

 

Objectives:

Introduce key energy resources and technologies for converting primary energy to secondary energy.

Explore technologies that convert final energy into useful forms like heat and light.

Discuss energy storage solutions and their importance.

Evaluate the social, economic, and environmental impacts of energy choices.

SDGs and Youth Training

Date: March  2025

Description: This training program will focus on educating Afghan youth about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and empowering them to contribute meaningfully towards achieving these global targets.
